Come learn what you can do now to ensure your pond comes out of winter and into spring with healthy koi. AprilGoshiki Grow Out The Goshiki Koi are scheduled to arrive from Russell Peters of PSKoi. Duc will have each Koi measured, photographed by our resident photographer - Oliver, and ready for selection and pick-up. Come join us as we learn about these koi and make your guess for best in show at our upcoming Koi Show (currently still tentatively planned for this fall). For those who are participating in the grow-out, we will be selecting your koi and taking them home to start the grow-out. This will be an outdoor event. Date:April 24th 10am to 12pm Location:Duc Nguyen's house with a live Stream! 366 Painted Horse Way Erie, Colorado 80516 MayAnnual Koi Auction We are planning to have our Annual Koi Auction. If you have too many fish, or not enough, this is the event for you! Members will be auctioning off some of their fish. Come check out some pretty fish and enjoy this club tradition. Details for participation - both as a buyer and seller - are available on our website. Registration will be from 9am to 10am and the auction will start at 10am. We expect to be done by 1pm. Fish should come bagged and ready for auction. If you are a member and need bags, please reach out to one of the board members. Shane Hastings from Professional Ponds will be talking to us about filters. Filter systems are always improving and its hard for us to keep up. Shane will be talking about the different kinds of filters - how they work and what roll they fill in your pond. Come join us at their Parker store to learn more about how you can keep your water clear. With the Koi Show coming up in a few month, we learned about some of the details of what happens behind the scenes including what it means to be qualified to be a judge. We also learned about what happens during the show and how to get our fish ready to show. If you were not able to attend, please check out the link to the recording below. Date:August 21st 7pm to 8pm Location:RMKC Club Meeting - August 2021 SeptemberHands-on session - How to catch and bag your Koi We will be meeting in person in September to learn the art of catching, bowling, and bagging koi. Duc will be hosting a hands-on session where our members will get a chance to learn how to properly handle and transport their koi. This will include how to catch, bowl, and bag koi in a real pond. We will have a demonstration as well as an opportunity to learn along side the experts. This will be in the morning to keep the koi cool. Date:September 18th 10am Location:Brian & Lori Reynolds 6943 Saddleback Ave Firestone CO 80504 OctoberKoi Show This year the Koi Show will be held the weekend of October 8. We are planning to have 6 vendor booths, many tanks (let us know if you want to show your fish!), and we will have a catered dinner on Saturday, at the pavilion next to the venue, for a fee. The event is open to the public, with free admission. The timing is the same as the Home Show, which is also at the Fairgrounds.
